Product Specifications:

MODEL "U" - Operated by Unique Spiral Balances
SCOPE - Double Hung Model "U" windows of the size and type called for on the plans and/or specifications shall be as manufactured by Pomeroy Inc., and shall include the necessary hardware, anchors and features as hereinafter specified.
MATERIALS - Windows to be constructed of tight coat, hot dipped galvanized steel with members formed of the gauges shown on the gauge charts.
SHOP DRAWINGS - Shop drawings shall be submitted for the Architect's approval. No work shall proceed prior to approval.
CONSTRUCTION - Frame members shall be accurately formed and coped to their respective intersecting parts, stagger-screwed, and welded. Necessary anchors shall be provided for satisfactory installation.
Sash members shall be formed in channel or tubular forms as indicated, flush welded at corners and ground smooth. Sash stiles shall have double flanges, entering into and operating in deep weathering grooves of the frame stiles, with integral weathering feature incorporated. Sash shall be designed for inside glazing using snap-in glazing beads and muntin caps removable for glazing. Muntins shall be standard type and rigidly attached to the sash and have accurately joined intersections.
WEATHERSTRIP - Resilient plastic weatherstrip shall be incorporated in meeting rails and at bottom rail of lower sash.
HARDWARE - Finish hardware shall be of solid bronze and consist of two lifts, one sash lock, one pole socket and one outside pull-down. Special hardware may be furnished when so specified.
Windows shall be equipped with Unique Sash Balances concealed within the jambs.
UNDERWRITER'S LABELED WINDOWS - Available with optional self-closing device, factory installed Sash lock must be of solid bronze which may be plated to match other standard finish hardware.
Windows are limited by the Underwriters to maximums of 5'-5" wide and 1 0'-O" high. Underwriters construction transom can increase height to 12'-O".
The weight of each sash is limited to 125 pounds and when glazed with 1/4 wire glass a maximum masonry opening size of 45 square feet is established.
Underwriters' requirements limit individual light areas to 720 square inches with maximum dimensions of 54" vertical and 48" horizontal for the clear lights. Muntins must be Underwriters'type 1 3/4' wide.
Underwriter's mullion must be used.
DOUBLE GLAZING - Sash shall be equipped with glazing stops of a type necessary to receive standard double glass nuts to a maximum overall thickness of 13/16" and with meeting rails of a special design to receive the same.
SHOP PAINTING - All sash and frames shall receive one shop coat of approved gray metallic priming paint.
ACCESSORIES - Window Cleaner bolts, hoppers, transoms, hospital sash, double glazing, louvers, subsills, spandrels, casings, stools, shade brackets, closure plates, screens, interior and exterior special trim etc., shall be specifically mentioned if required to be furnished by the window manufacturer. Consult with our engineering department for details on these items.
AIR INFILTRATION - Air infiltration shall not exceed I cubic toot per minute per foot of crack length when the window, in a closed and locked position, is subjected to a static pressure equivalent to the pressure of a wind velocity of 25 miles per hour. The sash shall not require more than a 35 pound force to operate, same after the sash is in motion.
TESTS - Results of air and water infiltration tests, conducted by nationally known independent laboratories, are available upon application.
